The Star of Caledonia includes a constellation of one hundred individual ‘stars’ represented by lights positioned across the structure. The stars will be visually striking, their colours can be changed for special events, while most of the time they will emit a soft, warm glow, creating a beautiful and welcoming presence at the border.

With only 100 stars available, the first star is dedicated to the memory of Alasdair Houston, your star will be one of only 99 open for sponsorship. Create an Iconic Landmark - Establish a striking internationally significant sculpture at the Scotland-England border, symbolising Scottish innovation, energy and creativity.
Catalyst for Tourism and Economic Growth - Attract up to 200k visitors annually, boosting tourism, supporting local businesses and stimulating economic regeneration in Dumfries & Galloway and the wider Borderlands region.
Celebrate Science and Heritage - Honour Scotland’s great history of creativity and scientific thought and the region’s history, using art to connect science, culture and community.
Foster Community Pride and Engagement - Involve local people, businesses and groups in the project, creating a sense of ownership and pride and providing a resource for education, events and community activities.
Promote Sustainability and Biodiversity - Integrate renewable energy, nature and biodiversity into the site design, ensuring the project benefits both people and the environment.
Leave a Lasting Legacy - Create a cultural and economic legacy for future generations, with all funds reinvested into the project and the local community.
